Upgrading my ride & Hunting New Rims

After thinking  for some time about changing my stock spring to Gab sport spring, today i decided to go back to yesterday's tyres shop without hesitation to change my spring. When i reached the shop, saw a few cars already it was 10:45am at the time.

Went to look for the boss and he was helping his staff to do the installation of sport rims for one of his customers, so i walked up to him and said boss yesterday you quoted me RM400 for the Gab Spring and im ok with it, then he said, dont want change ur sport rims ar? i told him, actually i wanted and had a thought of changing it the first day i came to here which is yesterday but then i didn't makeup my mind yet whether to change it or keep it or change the spring only, i was tempted to the sport rims of urs when i first saw them, a lot of choices are there.

And then, i asked the boss , how much value of 4 of those sport rims of mine to be traded in and how much would i have to top up for a new rims, he took the calculator and do the calculation and we both agreed at one price, and then i went to choose my new rims, at first i didn't realize there is a 2nd floor until i got told by the boss, up stair got more for you to see and choose, i was like wow ok. After going through all of the rims, about 20mins long, i had 3 rims in mind and was kinda in a hurry, so he took 3 of those selected rims down to my car to have them displayed through putting them on the wheel nuts since i couldn't decide and dont know which suits my ride most. Well i would like to pause at here and let my pictures do the talks.

Finally,  there it goes the transformation of my ride.

Firstly we got the Gab Sport Spring to be placed on to my ride.

As you can see in the above pic, my new rims is ready to go

See the red color spring, its now done pasang .

Finally ! Done the whole installation! It took about 1 hour 30mins.
Everyone there was busy ,so the whole process will be slightly longer.
The boss himself helping the staff at the same time doing the installation for me due to lack of staff, there's always people coming in to the shop, can see that he has quite a good business there and a lot of customers.
He asked me whether im interested in making my ride more good looking , hell i say ya, any suggestions? he offered me to spray the brake pad and rear drums brake for me into red color RM 25 for all sides. Sounded like a good deal, then i told him go ahead and do it for me. After spraying job done, it looks cool isnt it, please refer to pic above  ^_^

After i left the tyres shop, i headed to Proton Serv Centre at Peringgit to check my door and get the noisy sound fixed .

Okay, i must admit that peringgit 's Proton Serv Centre is way way wayy better than the one located at the pangkalan lama there hell a lot, last time i had my first serv done there, the serv seriously sucked. Staffs unprofessional is the problem, they didn't fix my door noise and yet they added salt into the wounded area.
Really unsatisfied with the serv they provided for my first 1000km car service.

Anyway, its late to continue posting, tomorrow backing to work, hell sian man.
Till Then ~

Dental checkup

Its been like forever since i went to my last dental checkup, 5 years perhaps?
Had my teeth checked at gov clinic. At first i was thinking of going to private clinic to have it done, instead of doing so, i went to gov clinic, reason being simple, i could have gone to private clinic for another checkup if i wasn't satisfied :D Reached there 9:30am, luckily wasn't crowded ! As far as my eyes could see, most of the doctors were malay, normal for gov clinic to have less chinese workers :D Guess what, my doctor was a pretty chick and shes a chinese and older than me by few years hmm. When i was questioned by my doctor oh yeah she has one assistant by her side doing the writing stuff, they stared at me and asked, boy whats wrong with ur teeth, i couldn't think of anything to answer , i said rosak and they were like O.o and lol'ed at me. HAHAHA!
As soon as i lay down on the dental chair, i was so scared of whats gonna come next, i told my doc that my teeth gums bleed easily whenever i brush my teeth, my doc said boy ur gums got bengkak-bengkak, and ur teeth wasn't in a straight line, some blind spots ur brush couldn't reach and so the drilling project started, lasted for 15mins ^_^ my teeth were fine no treatment needed just a scale and polish. I was advised to go back after six month.

After that, went to kota laksamana, heard from my colleague there's one tyres shop got variety of sport rims, went there for the first time, stepped into that shop and felt like hunting for new rims already, actually i went to the tyres shop for one purpose and thats sport spring, infact wasn't hunting for new rims, so i asked the boss there how much is changing sport spring and the brand, wanting to improve my ride whats the best spring you got there, he quoted me Rm400 , brand GAB and i was like wow Rm400 is kinda expensive, to be frankly  i didn't do any research so i certainly do not have any clues about the market price at all, and then i asked some more, the spring hard or soft .lame question cos i wasn't intended to get it installed on my ride, scared kena cut throat again, i got an expensive lesson learned last time the 2nd day i got my new car, i straight went to one of the famous tyres shops in malacca, i got my 1 day used's stock rims traded to them and got my new rims from there, they gave me some unknown branded tyre, my knowledge on tyres was like 0 back then, paid them and zhao, i showed to my friends my new ride, after hearing the price i paid , they said you get conned liao, so expensive where did you go, i then told them tuu there lor, sigh its okay, dont want mention the shop name here, later who knows they happen to see this and im GG'ed .

Back to topic, while talking with the boss,  i thought its better to check with the blmclub members about the sport spring price first before i go for it, then i told the boss there, hmm okay, Rm400 right what time is ur shop close, i dont have much money inside my purse at the moment needa withdraw some from the Atm machine.

Went back home check through online, found out that Rm400 is reasonable,  i saw a lot of people posting everywhere on the net, some got their GAB spring  at an even expensive price for the same thing Rm450. Pheww. Decided to visit the tyres shop that i went to for sec time, too bad by the time i reached there, so crowded man. Sian'ed . Maybe going tomorrow, see how first ! hehe

Till then.

Nikon Coolpix P7000 review

COOLPIX P7000 is Nikon's latest flagship model in the COOLPIX series.  The P7000 is a fun camera that incorporates advanced shooting functions in a compact, lightweight body, while also allowing its users to experience a similar feel to that of digital SLR cameras.
The COOLPIX P7000 is a classic compact digital camera offering advancements in image quality, shooting functions and operation over its predecessor, the COOLPIX P6000 (released in September 2008).  The COOLPIX P6000 was well received for the advanced level of its shooting functions with operation and results similar to that of a digital SLR camera.  The comprehensive camera design, operation and functions were satisfying even to those who normally use a digital SLR camera.
The P7000 offers an effective pixel count of 10.1 million pixels. It is equipped with a 7.1x optical zoom NIKKOR lens that covers a broad range of focal lengths beginning at the wide-angle 28mm (equivalent with 35mm [135] format), and makes the most of the large 1/1.7-inch, RGB CCD image sensor and optical characteristics. In addition, adoption of the latest image-processing engine, EXPEED C2, enables capture of high-resolution images with rich tonal expression. The P7000 is also equipped with a number of new functions, including Zoom Memory and Tone Level Information display, which provide greater control over shooting and resulting images. With a number of high-sensitivity shooting functions to choose from depending upon shooting conditions, high-speed response and controls that support intuitive operation, the COOLPIX P7000 is the optimal tool for nature photography as well as wide variety of other scenes.

Retail Price : RM 1,499.00

Nikon Introduces D7000 DSLR Camera

The Nikon D7000 seen as a replacement for the D90, it has a higher resolution sensor (16.2MP), 1080p video recording and more auto focus points (39 to be exact). The D7000 also has a magnesium alloy body which is usually only found in higher end cameras. The D7000 will come with the AF-S DX 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR, which is the same kit lens offered with the D90. The kit lens is a well-rounded and nice walkabout lens. It has a nice zoom range which will easily cover all your photography needs on a holiday. An upgrade from this would be the Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S ED VR II Telephoto Zoom Lens. Nothing else beats the Nikon 18-200mm in terms of coverage. It's the only lens you will need to bring on a holiday.

Button layouts are very similar to the D90, except for the extra drive mode select dial on the left and a dedicated video recording button. The D7000 sports the same 3 inch high-resolution LCD as the D90, with up to 170 deg viewing angle.
A list of new features are as follows:
  • Higher resolution sensor (16.2MP vs. 12.3MP)
  • Choice of 12-bit or 14-bit NEF (RAW)
  • 1080p HD movie mode
  • Limited movie editing functionality
  • AF possible during video shooting (but we're not over-optimistic on this score)
  • Live View switch (basically the same as D3100)
  • Faster AF in live view mode.
  • Twin SD card slots
  • Non-CPU lens data function (allows registration of up to 9 non-G lenses with manual apertures)
  • Magnesium alloy body shell
  • Wider ISO span (100-25,600 including 'H1' and 'H2')
  • Newly developed 39-point AF system
  • 'Quiet' single frame advance mode
  • 'Proper' mirror lock-up (as distinct from 'exposure delay mode')
  • Lockable drive mode dial
  • Higher maximum frame rate (6fps) with a Continuous Lo shooting option (1-5fps)
  • 100% viewfinder
  • Choice of 12-bit or 14-bit NEF (RAW) recording in compressed or lossless compressed formats
  • Up to 9 'non-CPU' lenses can be registered (same as D300s/D3s/D3X)
  • New EN-EL15 lithium-ion battery
  • New MB-D11 battery pack (magnesium alloy construction)

Notable features include the ability to shoot up to ISO25,600, in-camera video editing, twin SD card slots, support for non-CPU lenses, and the higher continuous shooting speed (6fps). Personally I would love to be able to shoot at a higher ISO for those low light conditions. Other new features such as the 39-point AF is useless to me. With 11-AF points on my D90, I only use 3 of them; center, left and right. For subjects that are not within those focus points, I just do a focus-lock and recompose.
Also I won't feel the difference between 12-bit and 14-bit RAW because I never shot RAW. RAW are for people who have too much time in the studio and can't spend a little more time on the field to get the exposure and white balance right. And it takes up too much space and processing time. I only shoot JPEG Large, Normal or Fine.
Megapixels and video functions are not too important unless you shoot for a magazine or if you're a video producer.

Twin SD card slots gives you the flexibility on how you want to store your photos and videos.
While the D7000 may look similar to the D90, but that's where the similarity ends. The D7000 has been cleverly designed to sit in between the D90 and the D300s. Now comes the dilemma in choosing between the D90 or the D7000.
If the D7000 is within your budget, the choice is obvious. A newer camera incorporates newer technologies and newer features which is almost always better than its predecessor.
However if you are budget-conscious, the D90 is certain to drop in price and it will serve you well for many years to come.
